The Rule of Law

The importance of Laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days, as well as when dealing with behaviour and through school assemblies. Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves and the consequences when laws are broken.  During their time at school children have the opportunity to interact in a positive way with the local police and emergency services through visiting Life Skills events and having Fire Safety talks in school.  In Year 6 the children can take part in ‘Bike It’, a scheme designed to introduce them to the laws and rules of the road and to help them see how these are designed to keep them safe.
